Temporary replacement for MS Nordlys
From 23 September 2024 until 28 November 2024, MS Trollfjord will replace MS Nordlys on The Coastal Express. After 28 November 2024, MS Vesterålen will sail in place of MS Nordlys until it returns from dry-dock.

Will the replacement have any consequences for my booking on MS Nordlys?

Your booking on MS Nordlys will be automatically rebooked on MS Trollfjord or MS Vesterålen according to the same cabin grade as your original booking. Where your original cabin grade is not available on MS Trollfjord or MS Vesterålen, we will upgrade you to the next cabin grade.

Will I have to pay more for MS Trollfjord or MS Vesterålen?

No, the price remains the same as your original booking on MS Nordlys.

What are the differences between MS Trollfjord, MS Vesterålen and MS Nordlys?

MS Nordlys and MS Vesterålen sail our Original voyages including The Coastal Express. MS Trollfjord is normally the flagship of our Signature voyages The Svalbard Line and The North Cape Line. There are no significant differences between MS Trollfjord and MS Nordlys, except that MS Trollfjord does not have outdoor hot tubs. MS Vesterålen is our classic ship which is smaller and more intimate than both MS Trollfjord and MS Nodlys. It has a unique nostalgic décor and one restaurant on board.

Does my Platinum upgrade still apply on MS Trollfjord and MS Vesterålen?

Yes, it still applies on MS Trollfjord with no changes to your Platimum upgrade. Platinum is not available on MS Vesterålen and we will issue refunds to all those affected.

Can I still bring a vehicle aboard MS Trollfjord & MS Vesterålen?

Yes, MS Trollfjord & MS Vesterålen are able to transport passenger cars, just as MS Nordlys can.
