Several Husky dogs that are part of a larger dog team
  • Enjoy a ride on a sled pulled by huskies together with skilled mushers

  • Admire winter landscapes from forests and fjords to snow-covered mountains

  • Keep on the look-out for an appearance of the aurora borealis

  • Enjoy a hot drink and homemade cake served in a traditional Sámi gamme

Join us on a miniature polar expedition complete with a pack of husky dogs and sleds. A bus ride to Kvaløya and we’ll change clothes and footwear before hopping aboard the sleds.

Then, just sit back, relax, and enjoy stunning views of the ocean and surrounding mountains as the huskies pull your sled over the frozen landscape.

With clear skies during the Polar Night, the only light is from the stars and the moon, and, with any luck, perhaps the Northern Lights too. To guide us through forest and across fields, we’ll wear headlamps, adding to the ambience of this little adventure.

After the ride, you’re invited into a Sámi gamme (a wooden hut) where you can warm up next to the open fire with a hot drink and a slice of homemade cake. Here, you’ll be able to learn about a working day at the Wilderness Centre and find out more about dog sledding.
