Sisimiut is the Greenlandic word for The Fox Hole People. It is the first town with Greenlandic sled dogs if you're coming from the south. Sisimiut lies beautifully beneath the landmark which is the mountain Nasaasaaq. Your local guide will take you on a walk through the beautiful colorful town. Your guide will talk about life in Greenland and Sisimiut while passing the kayak club, the museum, town hall, the cultural center, the fish and meat market and other interesting places. You will also have the opportunity to see Greenlandic sled dogs. They are on their long break when you see them. In the winter time they are on tour with their owners hunting or just enjoying the beautiful hinterland of Sisimiut. Ask your local guide if he/she has sled dogs.
