Stanley - Scenic Air Tour
See the Falkland Islands from another perspective. There is no better way to see these remote South Atlantic islands than by air.
You are picked up at the pier for a 15-minute drive to the airport, where your pilot meets you. Here, you are given a full pre-flight safety briefing, and get a complimentary scenic air tour booklet, which provides information about the places you see plus a brief history of FIGAS (Falkland Islands Government Air Service). A map with points of interest is also included. When on the aircraft, everyone is given a headset to be able to hear the pilot and converse with each other.
Your flight adventure lasts approximately 35 minutes and provides a good look at the rugged mountainous terrain, wild landscapes and natural coastal beauty of the Falkland Islands. The places you may see are Stanley and its harbour, Gypsy Cove, Cape Pembroke Lighthouse, The Lady Elizabeth shipwreck, Kidney Cove, Port Louis, Mount Tumbledown, Longdon, Two Sisters and Harriet, rock formations locally known as “Stone Runs”, Fitzroy Farm and Bluff Cove Lagoon. Photos are permitted on the flight, and if you have keen eyes you may spot a whale or two, dolphins or even an albatross.
Back at the airport you are given the opportunity to buy an exclusive range of FIGAS Scenic Air Tour souvenirs before your return to the pier.
