Get into the Norwegian spirit on a visit to the oldest Sons of Norway Lodge in Alaska.
  • Visit Alaska’s oldest Sons of Norway lodge and learn how the Norwegian heritage is kept alive there.

  • Enjoy a selection of authentic Norwegian pastries, including lefse, skorpa and almond puffs.

  • Watch a dance presentation by Norwegian dancers wearing the Petersburg bunad (traditional dress).

  • Pay respects to those lost at sea at the Bojer Wikan Fishermen’s Memorial Park, next to the lodge.


Alaska’s Norwegian haven 

Visit the oldest Sons of Norway Lodge in Alaska, known for the proud Norwegian heritage of its community. Have a cup of coffee or tea in the hall, along with some homemade Norwegian pastries. Learn about the history of the town and watch a performance by Norwegian dancers. Next to the hall, visit the Bojer Wikan Fishermen’s Memorial Park, dedicated in 2000 as a memorial to those lost at sea.
