Cruise Overview

Discover the wonders of the Galápagos with Australian Geographic

  • Special 10-day expedition cruise with Australian Geographic, starting in Ecuador before joining our small, carbon neutral ship MS Santa Cruz II to explore the UNESCO-protected Galápagos.

  • See species endemic to the region including giant tortoises, marine iguanas and rare seabirds, on this science-oriented journey of ecological discovery.

  • Kayak, paddleboard or snorkel, and go on small boat landings, while learning about the islands and Darwin's discoveries from your Australian Geographic host and onboard Expedition Team.

Enchanting Ecuador

Hosted by Chrissie Goldrick, Editor in Chief of Australian Geographic, your expedition starts in beautiful, UNESCO-listed Quito. We'll visit an active volcano at Cotopaxi National Park, before following Darwin's footsteps in the Galápagos Islands. Discover the lost civilisation of the Incas on our optional Machu Picchu Pre-Programme to complete this trip of a lifetime.

Eco-friendly Galápagos exploration

You'll explore San Cristobal, the first Galápagos island visited by Darwin in 1835. From there, we'll visit Mosquera Islet, see land iguanas in Santa Fe and South Plaza, giant turtles in Santa Cruz, and amazing bird colonies in Española, Eden Islet, and North Seymour. You'll sail aboard MS Santa Cruz II, our small, carbon neutral ship used exclusively in the Galápagos.
