Following the announcement of the voluntary administration of Bentours, Cox & Kings, and Tempo Holidays, Hurtigruten is committed to working with affected agents and guests to confirm their Hurtigruten bookings.

Hurtigruten will not cancel any agent or guest bookings without consultation. 

Hurtigruten bookings with embarkation dates up to 30 September 2019 are unaffected by the closure. Bookings from 1 October 2019 may be affected.

21 OCTOBER 2019 UPDATE

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS:
All Follow The Lights payment dates for December travel are due on 29 October.
We are now working on January 2020 Follow the Lights bookings.

OTHER BOOKINGS:
We are now working on December 2019 bookings. If you have not heard from us and you are travelling in October or November please call us on 1300 322 062 as soon as possible.

We will continue working through all bookings in date order.

3 OCTOBER 2019 UPDATE
NOVEMBER BOOKINGS
Our sales team is currently working through November bookings and we hope to have these enquiries completed by the end of next week. We’ll then move on to December, working through the months in date order.

50 Degrees North is working directly with Borealis (Nordic DMC) and Hurtigruten to offer a replacement Chase the Lights tour.

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS 

Hurtigruten is working directly with Unique North (Nordic DMC) to offer a replacement Follow the Lights tour. Hurtigruten and Unique North have received minimal amounts or no funds for these tours from Bentours. We ask clients to make claims through the appropriate process (see below) or via their agents and then rebook and pay.  A heavily reduced  “compassionate fare” is being offered for existing clients with a Bentours booking.

24 SEPTEMBER 2019 UPDATE:

Following the Bentours, Cox & Kings, and Tempo Holidays collapse, Hurtigruten has been working closely with affected travel agents and guests to find travel solutions. Thousands of travellers have been left stranded by the collapse and Hurtigruten has not received funds paid to Bentours, Cox & Kings, or Tempo Holidays for bookings with Hurtigruten for travel from 1 October 2019. Our goal is to help travel agents ensure their guests travel as quickly as possible. Whilst we work through this process, Hurtigruten will not cancel any agent or guest bookings on Hurtigruten cruises or Hurtigruten excursions or transfers without consultation.

To assist us as we work through these bookings we ask that all travel agents and guests follow the directions below.

TRAVEL AGENT INSTRUCTIONS
Travel agents are advised to liaise with their network and, if your agency is a party to the ACS scheme, you need to make your own enquires as to any recoverable amounts, or investigate credit card chargeback options.  Click here to find details of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) chargeback scheme. 

Travel agents should also email [email protected] with the information listed below for each person travelling.

  • Departure Date from Australia
  • Voyage Departure Date
  • Voyage (Route or Tour Name)
  • Hurtigruten Reference (if known)
  • Bentours Reference (if known)
  • Amount Paid (with supporting evidence)

Please attach all Bentours or agency documentation you may have received including invoices, itineraries and booking confirmations. Each booking enquiry will be considered on a case by case basis.

GUEST INSTRUCTIONS

GUESTS WHO HAVE ALREADY PAID IN FULL
Travellers and agents who have paid in full and are travelling from 1 October 2019 will need to action the below plan urgently.

A/ How to recover funds – payment charge back
Please investigate any potential insurance claims with your insurance providers.
If you have paid a travel agent please contact them immediately to discuss your options.
If you paid Bentours directly by credit card – please commence the charge back procedure with your bank.

B/ Rebooking and payment services
If you have other, non-Hurtigruten, travel bookings such as rail tickets, flights hotels, or sightseeing tours booked through Bentours, please contact alternative suppliers who are assisting with rebookings (see below). 
Hurtigruten can only rebook travellers for Hurtigruten travel products. Where guests have paid in full, Hurtigruten will offer a compassionate fare on a case by case basis.

GUESTS WHO HAVE ONLY PAID A BOOKING DEPOSIT
If you have paid a deposit of 10% of the cost of your voyage for Norwegian Coastal Voyages or 20% of the cost of your voyage for Expedition Voyages, Hurtigruten will accept the remaining balance to finalise your booking and issue documentation. This offer applies to Hurtigruten services only.

Once you have contacted your agent or registered with Hurtigruten (see below) we will be in touch with updated invoices and payment instructions.
